Return Policy

At Custom by Local Laundry, every item is uniquely crafted to your specifications. Our return policy is aligned with our print-on-demand fulfillment partner to ensure sustainability and quality.

Defects & Misprints (Strict Liability)

We stand behind our quality. If you receive a product that is misprinted, damaged, or defective, we will cover the cost of a replacement.

Time Limit: Any claims for misprinted/damaged/defective items must be submitted within 30 days after the product has been received.

Please submit a claim through our Contact form with photos of the defect. We generally do not require you to return the defective item, though we reserve the right to request it for quality assurance verification.

Buyer's Remorse & Size Exchanges

Because each product is custom printed for you, we do not refund orders for buyer’s remorse or size exchanges. A new order would need to be placed for an updated size.

We provide detailed size charts on every product page to help you make the right choice.

EU Right of Withdrawal Exemption

According to Article 16(c) and (e) of the Directive 2011/83/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council, the right of withdrawal may not be provided for goods that are made to the consumer's specifications or are clearly personalized. Therefore, Custom by Local Laundry reserves rights to refuse returns at its sole discretion for these items.

Cancellations

We work quickly to get your custom order into the production queue.

Cancellation Window

Made in Canada: You may request a cancellation or modification (size/address) within 24 hours of purchase. After this window, materials are allocated to the batch and the order is final.

International (POD): Our systems are automated to begin production almost immediately. We cannot guarantee the ability to cancel an order once placed. If you need to make a change, please contact us immediately.

Shipping & Production

Our production times vary based on the collection you are ordering from. Please check your product description to confirm if your item is "Made in Canada" or "International Custom".

To ensure premium quality while supporting local manufacturing, we operate on a weekly production cycle. This allows us to group orders for efficiency without making you wait too long.

For our international collection, we utilize a standard print-on-demand workflow:

  • Fulfillment (2–7 business days): The time it takes to print and pack your custom order.
  • Shipping (3–5 business days): The time it takes for the carrier to deliver the package after fulfillment.
Bulk Orders & Corporate Needs

Planning a large order? We offer dedicated support for high-volume projects. These orders often involve specialized sourcing, custom sampling, and production schedules that differ from our standard web orders.

Lost Packages

For packages lost in transit, all claims must be submitted no later than 30 days after the estimated delivery date. If the package is confirmed lost by the carrier, we will cover the costs of reprinting and shipping a replacement.

Customs & Duties

For international shipments (including US-Canada cross-border), customers are responsible for any customs fees, duties, or taxes assessed by the destination country.

Product Disclaimers

We are transparent about the manufacturing process of your custom goods. Please review the following standards.

Product Reality (Color & Scent)

Color Reality: We print using CMYK industry standards. Please note that colors on physical products may appear slightly different (less vivid) than what you see on a backlit computer or phone screen (RGB).

The "Fresh Print" Scent: Your custom apparel may arrive with a slight vinegar scent. This is a harmless fixation agent applied during the printing process to ensure the ink bonds with the fabric. It will vanish completely after the first wash.

Sizing Tolerance

All garments are hand-sewn and may vary slightly. A size variance of up to 1 inch (2.54 cm) from the measurements listed in our size guide is considered within the manufacturer's tolerance and is not considered a defect.

Care Instructions (Warranty)

To ensure the longevity of your custom print, please wash inside out in cold water and hang dry or tumble dry low. Improper care (such as high-heat washing or ironing directly on the print) will void the defect warranty. We cannot offer replacements for items damaged due to improper washing.

Wrong Address Liability

If you provide an address that is considered insufficient by the courier, the shipment will be returned to our facility.

Liability: You will be liable for reshipment costs once we have confirmed an updated address with you (if and as applicable).

Unclaimed shipments: Shipments that go unclaimed are returned to our facility and you will be liable for the cost of a reshipment. Unclaimed packages are donated to charity after 30 days.

Privacy Policy

Custom by Local Laundry respects your privacy. We do not sell or trade your PII (Personally Identifiable Information).

Data Collection & Usage

When you place an order, we collect your name, billing/shipping address, and email. This "Order Information" is used strictly to fulfill your order via our fulfillment partners (such as Printful and local decorators) and to communicate with you regarding status updates.

Third-Party Sharing

We share your Personal Information with third parties to help us use your Personal Information, as described above. For example, we use Shopify to power our online store and Google Analytics to understand how our customers use the Site.

Terms of Service

By purchasing from Custom by Local Laundry, you agree that your use of our Service is at your sole risk. The service and all products are provided 'as is' and 'as available' for your use, without any representation, warranties or conditions of any kind.

User Submitted Content (Copyright)

By submitting your own artwork or designs for printing, you warrant that you own the rights to the image or have obtained permission to use it. Custom by Local Laundry reserves the right to refuse to print any order that contains trademarked, copyrighted, or offensive material.

We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason at any time.
